Dress Code & Club Rules
ON THE COURSE
To help ensure all golfers receive a pleasant and safe experience, may we please ask that all golfers:
- Rake bunkers, repair pitchmarks and replace divots.
- Keep all trolleys and buggies off teeing areas, greens and approaches.
- Do not leave litter on the course. There are litter bins located on most teeing areas for your convenience.
- Maintain an awareness of safety, golfers are reminded not to play when fellow golfers are in range, and shout FORE if in the slightest doubt of the safety of others.
- Report the incident to the Manager if you have believe you may have caused damage to property on or around the course immediately upon return to the clubhouse.
DRESS CODE
Smart Casual is the overall Dress Code and members are reminded that they are responsible for their guests’ compliance.
All members, visitors and guests are expected to be appropriately dressed on the Course, in the Clubhouse and surrounding areas. The Club reserves the right to refuse access to anyone not meeting the standard expected or wearing any other item of dress deemed inappropriate not expressly mentioned below.
Members are respectfully requested to support the Club Management in administering these rules. The Club has the right to temporarily relax the Dress Code to facilitate events. Children under 10 years old are not bound by the Dress Code.
DRESS ON THE COURSE
- Smart golf clothing with shirts tucked in.
- Collared golf shirt with sleeves.
- Golf shoes must be worn by players. Caddies and spectators may wear trainers.
- Turtlenecks or modern trends for tapered and zip-up collars are permitted as are hoodies if specifically designed and sold as golf attire.
- Shorts must be tailored and of an appropriate style and length.
- Ladies are permitted to wear calf-length trousers, skorts and sleeveless shirts.
- Any length of light coloured sock appropriate with the golf shoes and shorts.
DRESS IN THE CLUBHOUSE
- The dress code is Smart Casual and appropriate to maintaining the high
standards of the Club. - All the above as allowed on the course and must be clean and dry.
- Non spiked cleaned golf shoes may be worn in the clubhouse.
- Clean smart training shoes may also be worn.
- For certain functions that may require more formal wear the dress code will be posted prior to the
event.
DRESS NOT ALLOWED ON THE COURSE
- Cargo, combat trousers or similar, denim jackets, jeans, or joggers.
- T-Shirts, team sports shirts, tracksuits or beach wear.
- Sleeveless shirts prohibited for Gentlemen.
- Caps to be worn facing forward.
DRESS NOT ALLOWED IN THE CLUBHOUSE
- All the above, that are not allowed on the course .
- Metal spiked golf shoes may only be worn in the players’ entrance and
locker rooms. - Golf waterproofs overcoats, caps, hats and scarves are not to be worn in
the upstairs room and should be deposited in the appropriate locker
room or clothing rail on the first floor landing.
Fairfield Golf Club has a relaxed outlook toward dress code at our Clubhouse. We have Golfing and Social Members with their families as well as Visitors from the local community and beyond who are all enjoying the same space. With this in mind, we do not wish to place constraints on one group whilst allowing another to do something else. Everyone knows what’s appropriate and respects that.
Visitors are very welcome at Fairfield Golf Club and a very warm welcome is guaranteed for everyone who visits the Club. The Club is renowned for its friendliness towards visitors, from the moment you enter our Clubhouse and Pro Shop, until the moment you leave. We pride ourselves on ensuring you have enjoyed your round of golf and the Club’s hospitality.

The Clubhouse, the Club’s Bars and Catering facilities are modern and comfortable whilst the Club itself is very close to Manchester City centre on a large green belt, with excellent tranport links has a proud history, being established in 1892.
